Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Maine presents: Princess Ida
On the Stanley Subaru Stage
Fridays, 7:00pm, Saturdays & Sundays, 2:00pm
Princess Ida has rejected the rule of men, and the marriage contract forced upon her in infancy. But when the time comes to fulfill it, her defiance may spark a war. When Ida fails to appear for the long-promised wedding, her determined suitor, Hilarion, disguises himself and his companions as women and infiltrates Castle Adamant, a university devoted entirely to women. Once their deception is exposed, Ida and her peers face an impossible choice: should she surrender her ideals and accept Hilarion’s devotion, or stand firm and risk war between two stubborn kings—and the destruction of the university she loves?
$20 Adults, $12 Students, $8 Youth (12&under) General Admission

Bad Daddy's musical perspective is a bi-coastal brew. With one foot in Chicago's Lake Michigan and the other in Maine's frigid Atlantic, Paul Waring's time between Maine and Illinois lets the Bad Daddy fuse big city grit with salty New England sensibility. Paul's blues is unapologetic and stylish – a gritty, crunchy compression of classic blues and dank, sticky roots rock. For 20 years, that sound anchors the themes in his music and on his new record, "It's a Mad Mad Bad Dad World". Shaken together, Bad Daddy makes a modern cocktail of feel-good, soul-filled tunes that groove and move.
