Kneisel Hall, known as “the cradle of chamber music in America,” has provided musicians with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the chamber repertoire since 1902, realizing founder Franz Kneisel’s vision for over 100 years. Born in Bucharest, violinist Franz Kneisel (1865-1926) studied at the Vienna Conservatory and emigrated from Berlin in 1885 in order to become that year he also formed the Kneisel Quartet, the first fully professional string quartet in America, famous for the precision of its ensemble and the restrained elegance of its performances. Welcome to the wonderful fictional world of Nancy, Ned, and Prince (a family of 3 Belgian horses) created from real life events. Their adventures begin at home in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State and take them to many far away places like Alaska, New Zealand, Europe, and the British Isles. The author and illustrator is Mary Ellen Lincourt. She is a new author, and she currently lives in Maine. 8 of her children's stories are now in print and available in local bookstores and directly from the author. Lincourt Belgian Books, LLC, is a wholesale book company. How did this imaginary world of Belgian horses acting like people begin? It began with a laugh. Mary Ellen sketched a picture of a horse sleeping on a sofa with its mouth wide open. When her husband saw the picture, he laughed. He worked hard during the day, and he often fell asleep and snored. During nearly 8 years of homeschooling their son Gabe (grades 3-11), Mary Ellen saw Belgian horses every time she looked out the window. It seemed only natural to her to draw the most familiar scene and animate these gentle giants. Growing up on a diet of When We Were Very Young (Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh) by A. A. Milne, and Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox in Joel Chandler Harris's Uncle Remus: The Complete Tales and Thornton Burgess's animal stories, Mary Ellen felt compelled to create a new fiction world with Belgian horses. About the Author: Mary Ellen Strong Lincourt was born in Brooklyn, New York, June 17, 1949. Brooklyn was the home of her maternal grandparents Robert and Helen MacCormack, and she visited them often. Summit, New Jersey, 14 Hawthorne Place, was her family home in winter and Sabbath Day Point, New York, on Lake George was her home in the summer. Her paternal grandmother Grace Georgina Kydd Strong lived with her in Summit. Mary Ellen's siblings Heather b. 1951 and Robert b. 1955, her father Selah and her mother Mary Jane, made a family of six at the dinner table every evening. Piano and guitar lessons and choir steeped Mary Ellen in music, as well as radio and vinyl records. Artwork occupied her hands as she listened to her father read King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and Robin Hood. An art award of $100 and an award of an oil painting class in high school acknowledged her budding passion for art, but her father encouraged her to become a teacher, because it provided a more dependable income. In 1971 Mary Ellen was graduated from Russell Sage with a bachelor's degree in secondary English education. In 1972 Mary Ellen married Duane in Lake Placid, New York, the place where they had first met in June 1968. Mary Ellen retired from teaching English and Art in 1976 due to unexplainable and untreatable health issues that began suddenly July 11, 1974, when she was taking a synthetic estrogen to promote ovulation in a lazy right ovary. May 20, 1977, Gabe was born, the greatest joy in the lives of Mary Ellen and Duane. In 1975 Mary Ellen finally complete her Masters in English from Oswego that had been interrupted by the events of July 11, 1974, and she received her permanent certification to teach in New York State. After the birth of Gabe, Mary Ellen had a variety of jobs: substitute teacher at local high schools, assistant teacher in the English writing classes at the local community college, diet instructor, acrylic painting class teacher, goat milk tester, health foods store owner, seasonal gift shop owner, parent of a homeschooler, and homeschool test administerer and evaluator submitting progress reports to local schools for other homeschoolers. In 1996 Mary Ellen enrolled in Liberty University and was graduated with a Masters in Counseling degree. For 9 years she owned a Christian counseling private practice and she lead psychodrama groups at Four Winds in Saratoga. She moved 3 times trying to improve her environment and severe environmental allergies. Partial answers and solutions slowly entered the picture but no cure. In 1985 there were 22 mercury silver amalgams replaced with composite. In 1987 there were shots and drops for estrogen, progesterone and other allergens. In 1997 there was the macrobiotic diet, the coffee enemas, and more mold, tree, and grass antigens, prescribed by Dr. Sherry Rogers, an environmental allergist. In 2011 there was the definitive diagnosis of Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella and other coinfections by a Lyme Literate Doctor Maureen McShane in Plattsburg, NY. After 2 years on multiple antibiotics her breathing improved, but she failed to recover. In 2017 she tried more homeopathics specifically designed to cure Lyme and the coinfections. Again Mary Ellen failed to recover. Finally, after 6 falls in 2020, and a spinal tap in 2021, she was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. The symptoms for neurological Lyme and the symptoms for Multiple Sclerosis are identical. Key factors in MS are the triumvirate of pathogens: Bartonella, Epstein Barr Virus and Herpes 6. At this point in the research the relationship between Epstein Barr and Multiple Sclerosis is like the relationship between chicken pox and shingles. There is a chicken pox vaccine/ shingles vaccine, but there is no Multiple Sclerosis/Epstein Barr vaccine. Mary Ellen and Duane celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in July 2025. Mary Ellen realizes her life is a miracle. She has been health challenged for 51 years of her 53 years of marriage. These books are the essence of every drop of goodness in her life, because God allowed her to survive in places where she could not breathe.
